PORT EWEN, N.Y. — Ulster BOCES Adult Career Education Center has opened enrollment for its surgical technologist program starting in September 2022.
The program is an accredited, full-time program that fulfills required classroom and clinical hours. It prepares students to sit for the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Certification exams in a field where employment is expected to grow 9 percent by 2030.
The ten-month, 970-hour program, will prepare students to work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel, delivering patient care during all aspects of a surgical procedure.
Clinical instruction is offered in partnership with several local health networks.
