A Brit man has left Reddit divided with a controversial way to cook baked beans.
The man sparked a debate as he claims we’ve been cooking baked beans all wrong.
The Redditor wrote: “Who else likes their beans overdone? (*Cheese imminent)”
One replied: “Yep, I call them ‘hotel beans’, like beans in a buffet brekkie that have been under the lights for a couple of hours. Only way to have them!”
“They’re called ‘sticky beans’ in our house, and is the only way Mrs poopio will cook them,” commented another.
They added: “Notably, she also refuses to wash the pan after ‘sticky beans’, so I have to scrub it before it goes in the dishwasher.”
“Glorious!” said another.
They added: “When I was a student I would buy a small white loaf (not sliced) cut it in half, hollow it out and fill it with well done cheesy beans. You eat it like an open ended pasty.”

But another was left unhappy, commenting: “just criminal.”
“You’re an animal, but at the same time I want to try it,” commented a second.
And a third chipped in with: “That sounds revolting and I must have it.”
But another backed him, saying: “That’s not overdone. That’s just right.”
And another joked: “There’s something naughty and nice about it but I’d be worried a potential employer might see it.”
“Make sure the beans are scalding hot then pop the cheese on top, delightful,” said another.
While another commented: “Good question! I like to grate on the cheese, then let everything cool down a little and the cheese melts in, then perfect eating temp too. Nothing worse than food being too hot!”
Another said: “Mushy beans are the best. You don’t have to chase them floating in the sauce and they don’t make the toast soggy.”
