(WBNG) — Do you have your running shoes ready? Because on Saturday, April 24th the Kopernik Observatory & Science Center will host its annual “Race to the Stars” 5K.
The race began in 2018 and is a way for the community to come together and support the observatory.
Drew Deskur, Executive Director of the Kopernik, says the race is way to fundraise for the Observatory which, in turn, helps them to be able to put on programming events, like their summer camp.
Deskur adds that it won’t just be a 5K that people can participate in — there will also be an awards ceremony and community members can use the center’s telescopes to gaze at the sky.
The race begins at 6:30, with registration starting the hour prior.
